Mark your calendars for the 2011 Battle in the Saddle, open free to the public July 5-9 in Oklahoma City. Spectators can catch all the action of this historic, all-breed event featuring barrel racing, working cow horse, roping, cutting,Ā versatility ranch horse, ranch remuda and cowboy mounted shooting. Donāt miss out on the excitement as competitors battle it out for more than $145,000 in added money.
All events are dual-approved with AQHA alliance-partners American Rope Horse Futurity Association, Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, National Cutting Horse Association, Ranch Horse Association of America and National Reined Cow Horse Association, and barrels will be dual approved by Better Barrel Races. All breeds are welcome but American Quarter Horses competing will receive AQHA points. AQHA roping entries (including amateur and select breakaway, amateur and select tie down, and select heading and heeling) will compete for two sets of points in each go round (four sets total); AQHA barrel racing entries will compete for one set of points in each long round (two sets total); AQHA cowboy mounted shooting entries will compete for one set of points; AQHA cutting entries will compete for two sets of points; versatility ranch horse entries will compete for two points total; and AQHA working cow horse entries will compete for two sets of points.
