AQHA Receives CHA Partnership in Safety Award

America’s Horse, October 29, 2007 – The American Quarter Horse Association recently received the Certified Horsemanship Association’s Partnership in Safety Award. CHA presented AQHA with the award at the 2007 Certified Horsemanship Association’s international conference, held in Orlando, Florida, in September.

The Partnership in Safety Award, which began in 1996, is given to an association, organization or individual who has worked with CHA to promote safety in the horse industry.

“It is such a pleasure to be able to award the CHA Partnership in Safety to the American Quarter Horse Association,” said Christy Landwehr, chief executive officer for CHA. “This award is given to an outstanding association that has demonstrated excellent commitment to safety in equestrian endeavors. Not only does AQHA provide its members with educational programs that denote safety to the horse public at large, but many of our CHA instructors around the continent rely on American Quarter Horses in their school strings to help teach riders safely.”

The purpose of CHA is to promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of individuals and group riding programs. CHA certifies instructors and trail guides, accredits equestrian facilities, publishes manuals and provides support and educational resources.
