World Show 101
The American Quarter Horse Journal – The American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show is coming November 6-20 to State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, and you don’t want to miss out.
The World Show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. More than 3,300 entries from around the world are competing at this year’s event.

Coming to OKC?
While at the World Show, stop by the trade show in the Travel & Transportation Building and in the Cox Pavilion. It will be open November 5 from noon to 6 p.m., November 6-9 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and November 10-20 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Built Ford Tough Club will have a cash bar with light hors d’oeuvres each evening. Access to the club is by membership only. Located inside State Fair Arena in Section 300, the club has a great view above the entrance alleyway into the coliseum.
Special Events
Be sure to purchase a World Show program at the show, so you won’t miss any of the great events planned.
November 11:
• Show your support for our veterans and troops by wearing red and picking up a flag button at the Quarter Horse Outfitters booth in the Travel & Transportation Building.
November 12:
• Find out who wins the coveted Farnam All-Around Amateur award and thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.
• Margarita Madness takes place from 5-6:30 p.m. in the trade show buildings, hosted by Justin Boots.
November 13:
• Wear pink to honor horsemen and -women who have fought a battle with cancer. The Rein in Cancer event will take place during the evening finals performance.
• The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center will be offering free health screenings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sales Pavilion. The event is open to allAQHA Professional Horsemen and their employees, as well as World Show spectators. The health screening will include a blood pressure check, cholesterol and glucose tests, and oral cavity and skin exams. The health fair was moved to the barns to be closer to the hardworking people who take care of the great American Quarter Horses.
• AQHA Professional Horseman Mike Major, who won the first-ever Project Cowboy contest in Fort Worth in September, will perform the freestyle routine that placed him above more than 200 contestants that were vying to be named atop the Project Cowboy scoreboard.
November 16:
• The American Quarter Horse Journal is sponsoring an exhibitor appreciation reception at 7:30 p.m.. One of Oklahoma City’s finest party bands, Prime Time, will entertain while exhibitors enjoy drinks, food and a special parade of Farnam Superhorse contenders.
November 17:
• AQHA World Championship Show Sale performance demonstration, 9 a.m.
November 18:
• Margarita Madness takes place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the trade show buildings, hosted by John Deere and AQHA Members Plus.
• Come find your dream horse! The AQHA World Championship Show Sale, brought to you by Professional Auction Services will take place at 9 a.m.
November 19:
• When the top equestrian drill teams from Texas and Oklahoma face off, the result is an all-out Battle of the Borders. This exciting showdown will take place at 7 p.m.

November 20:
• The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, an AQHA alliance partner, will present a demonstration during the evening finals.
• See who gets crowned Oklahoma City Leading Owner and Farnam Superhorse.
