The Sky’s the Limit in Fort Worth
Amarillo, Texas, July 29, 2005 – More than 860 youth exhibitors will put on the shine at the 2005 American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show. Held at Will Rogers Memorial Center August 6-13 in Fort Worth, Texas, AQHYA members will compete for world championship titles in 30 American Quarter Horse events. This year’s theme, “The Sky’s the Limit,†accurately describes the youth exhibitors who will take it to the limit at the largest single-breed youth horse show in the world.
The United States, Canada and Israel will be represented by the top youth exhibitors in the world. The show will host some of the finest American Quarter Horse athletes as well. A total of 1,944 entries have been received and 1,147 American Quarter Horses are qualified to compete.
In addition to the competition in the arena, special events will be hosted throughout the week. The Cowtown Talent Show kicks off the festivities August 5 at 7 p.m., and the Youth Appreciation Banquet will celebrate AQHYA’s 2004 high-point award winners August 6. The scrapbook, horse bowl, speech and judging contests all will take place over the course of the show, allowing youth members to display their vast array of talents.
“The AQHYA World Championship Show is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for
many of these youth,†said Christy Bramwell, senior manager of youth activities. “They have been showing, training and preparing for this moment since they were old enough to straddle a horse. However, they’re not just learning showmanship skills, they are learning valuable life skills as well — responsibility, dedication, ownership and self-confidence — skills these youth will use throughout their lives.â€
Tough competition, great shopping and fun special events mark the Youth World as the AQHYA event of the year. Not only does it provide youth with an opportunity to display their talent, it proves the sky really is the limit.
