AQHRJ ONLINE PLANS REAL-TIME COVERAGE OF ALL AMERICAN FUTURITY

August 11, 2006 — On Saturday, entries will be taken for the prestigious running of the 47th All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino.

This historical race, worth more than $2 million dollars, currently has 342 2-year-olds eligible to enter with talk of five probable supplemental nominations at $50,000 each.

“Approximately 50 percent of eligible horses actually enter the trials,” said Rick Baugh, Ruidoso Downs General Manager. “So we are looking to run 16-18 trials on Thursday, August 17.”

The only changes the public will experience in the running of this event are coupled entries.

“The coupled entry rule has been changed in New Mexico; we no longer have coupled entries in stakes, allowance and overnight races, which we feel benefits the betting public,” Baugh said.

A complete list of supplements as well as the post position draw will be available at the completion of entries on The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal’s Web site, aqharacing.com.

Also, for the ninth consecutive year, The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal Online will host exclusive real-time, race-by-race coverage of the All American Futurity trials.

AQHRJ Online’s coverage will have updates following every trial, including final times for every horse, trouble comments provided by Equibase and AQHRJ field editor Michael Cusortelli, and an unofficial list of the 10 fastest times after every heat. AQHRJ Online is also planning the same type of coverage for the November 24 Los Alamitos Two-Million Futurity (G1) trials in California.
