Blood-Horse Publications and Weatherbys Announce Joint Stallion Register Online/Stallion Book Online Venture

Lexington, Ky – Blood-Horse Publications and Weatherbys announce a joint venture that will combine the strengths of the world’s most successful online services regarding Thoroughbred stallions. Beginning in December 2008, theBlood-Horse Stallion Register Online (StallionRegister.com) and the Weatherbys Stallion Book Online(Stallionbook.co.uk) will cross-link their exceptionally comprehensive and regularly updated racing and sales statistics. Breeders and owners doing research on stallions that have pages on both online registers will be able to easily and quickly move from one Web site to the other and obtain the most complete statistical picture available for the Northern Hemisphere’s top sires.

The Blood-Horse Stallion Register Online will also provide easy access to all the stallions that appear on the Weatherbys Stallion Book Online while Weatherbys’ customers will have ready access through each Stallion Book Online page to the powerful TrueNicks rating service. TrueNicks is unlike other nick ratings that are calculated from a limited group of stakes horses because TrueNicks utilizes the database of The U.S. Jockey Club — the world’s most complete records of Thoroughbreds and their performance — to produce a sophisticated rating based on all foals for a given cross.

“This is the first step in a partnership that unites major Thoroughbred bloodstock authorities in Europe and North America,” noted Mr. Stacy V. Bearse, President and CEO of Blood-Horse Publications. “Linked by the internet and driven by technology, this new cooperation will bring an unprecedented level of in-depth and timely information to owners and breeders around the globe.”

Nick Craven, CEO of Weatherbys Ventures said: “Weatherbys is delighted to have entered into a joint-venture with the Blood-Horse, the premier source of information on the Web for North American stallions. We already enjoy a strong relationship with the U.S. Jockey Club through Weatherbys Bloodstock Reports and Equineline. Now this is the start of an influential partnership with the Blood-Horse which will be beneficial to all those involved in our global breeding industry.”
