Brucellosis has been found in cattle from a second Park County herd.
Jim Logan, Wyoming state veterinarian, announced last week that the bacterial disease was detected after 12 heifers were tested before being sold.
The pre-sale testing is required under state rules. The heifers were from a herd within Wyoming’s designated surveillance area, which includes areas of Park County west of Wyo. 120.
State law prohibits officials from identifying the owner of the herd.
Logan was unavailable for comment on Monday. Assistant State Veterinarian Bob Meyer did not return calls for comment by press time Monday. READ MORE…
