Congratulations to the 2005 America’s Horse Cares Grant Recipients

Amarillo, Texas, March 7, 2006 — In the inaugural year of the America’s Horse Cares grant program, the American Quarter Horse Foundation received 125 applications. The Foundation Council approved 11 grants, with a funding total of $33,977.30.

America’s Horse Cares was established in 2005 as a grant program to support North American Riding for the Handicapped Association-approved facilities. America’s Horse Cares recognizes and supports the proven benefits of therapeutic riding to individuals of all ages with a wide variety of mental, physical and emotional disabilities.

Congratulations to these 11 recipients of a 2005 America’s Horse Cares grant:

Circle of Hope Therapeutic Riding Inc. – Barnesville, Maryland
Free SPIRIT – Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
Handicapped High Riders Club Inc. – Allentown, New Jersey
Horse Warriors – Jackson, Wyoming
HORSEPOWER Therapeutic Learning Center – Colfax, North Carolina
MTRA-Marion Therapeutic Riding Association Inc. – Ocala, Florida
Mounted Eagles Therapeutic Horsemanship – Motley, Minnesota
Special Equestrians Inc. – Warrington, Pennsylvania
Stir-n-Up Hope Inc. – Rockport, Indiana
SunDance Riding Therapy Inc. – Dilworth, Minnesota
Three Gaits Inc. – Oregon, Wisconsin

In addition, McKenna Farms Therapy Services Inc. received the MD Barns $15,000 product certificate. AQHA Corporate Partner MD Barns made the donation to America’s Horse Cares in honor of the 2005 second- and third-place finalists of the MD Barns Silver Spur Award.
