Lexington, KY (December 13, 2010) – Prominent Thoroughbred breeder Jane Lyon and her daughter Karen Bailey have captured the story of an old racehorse who got a second chance in their book, Primerica: A Home for the Brave. Written for the young and young at heart, the book is beautifully illustrated by Susie Gordon.

Primerica tells the true story of a blue-blooded Kentucky Thoroughbred who raced year after year until he reached the bottom rung of the sport. Rescued in the twilight of his career, Primerica was brought to Summer Wind Farm in Kentucky for a well-deserved retirement.

Primerica is the second book for Lyon and Bailey. They wrote the critically praised Skipingo Home, released in 2008 by Eclipse Press and now in its second printing.

Lyon and her husband, Frank, both of Little Rock, Ark., own and operate Summer Wind Farm, a commercial breeding operation near Georgetown, Ky. The 850-acre farm is home to many prominent broodmares, including champion Fleet Indian.

Proceeds from the book will benefit Old Friends Equine Sanctuary.
