FLASHY ZIPPER FUND BENEFITS EQUINE RESEARCH

America’s Horse, November 28, 2007 – Created by Cecilia May Hylton in honor of her late 1982 sorrel western pleasure stallion, the Flashy Zipper Fund not only honors a great horse, but benefits the work of the American Quarter Horse Foundation.

Each year the Foundation provides funding for equine research studies, the education of our industry’s young people and assistance to therapeutic riding programs that give those with disabilities the opportunity to benefit from riding horses. In addition, it provides for the educational programs of the Hall of Fame & Museum, which are important in preserving the history of our breed and providing learning opportunities for future generations.

“I was honored to have owned Flashy and am excited this fund will provide such a broad base of support for the Foundation to continue the work it does to improve our industry,” explained Hylton.

The goal for the Flashy Zipper Fund is to build an endowed fund of $300,000. Interest from the permanent fund will be utilized annually to support the many programs of the Foundation, and the remaining principal will continue to grow.

Hylton is working in partnership with the Foundation to ensure the fund reaches its goal and invites you to join her in giving to the Flashy Zipper Fund.

“To express my gratitude and commitment, I am matching each gift to the fund, dollar for dollar. Please know that gifts of all sizes are welcome. However, a gift of $200 or more will allow you to place a brick commemorating your special horse on the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum’s Wall of Honor. Maybe this is a horse by Flashy Zipper or maybe it is another horse or horses that mean a great deal to you. We invite you to permanently honor your horses by purchasing a brick. Your brick will be displayed on the Wall of Honor along with a center stone honoring Flashy Zipper,” said Hylton.
