JOHN DEERE NAMED SPONSOR OF RACING CHALLENGE CHAMPION OWNER AWARD

The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal, January 31, 2008 – John Deere is the new sponsor of the Bank of America® Racing Challenge Champion Owner award, presented each year to the owner who accrues the most points in Racing Challenge competition.
John Deere will award a new GatorTM  utility vehicle (an approximate value of $10,000) to the 2008 John Deere Champion Owner.  Owner points are accumulated by running horses in Bank of America Racing Challenge regional finals or John Deere Bonus Challenge races.  Points are awarded on a sliding scale, based on order of finish.

The Bank of America Racing Challenge is a diversified series of qualifying races held in 11 regions across the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.  The regional winners will compete for more than $1 million in purses at the Challenge Championships on November 8, 2008, at Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, Louisiana.  The Racing Challenge distributes more than $5 million in purses and performance awards throughout the season.

John Deere Bonus Challenge races are designed to offer Challenge-enrolled horses more racing opportunities at racetracks that don’t host regional Challenge Championship qualifying races.  AQHA has scheduled 25 such races so far in 2008.
