Learn the Elements of Saddle Fit at a Workshop with Carmi Weininger on August 4

Wellington, FL- July 12, 2012- Join Carmi Weininger, President of the ReactorPanel Saddle Company and one of North America’s leading authorities on saddle fit, at a saddle fitting workshop on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Wyvern Farm in Martinez, CA from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Featured in Chronicle of the Horse and Trail Blazer magazine as an expert on the subject of saddle fit, Weininger also serves as a regular guest lecturer in Functional Anatomy at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. She has lectured alongside famous author and coach, Mary Wanless and founding member of the Association for Equine Sports Medicine, Dr. Kerry Ridgway. This educational saddle fitting seminar has been taught to university equine studies classes, organizations, clubs and informal barn groups.

Committed to putting more science and less guesswork into the saddle fitting process, Weininger believes that assessing saddle fit is a realistic goal for all riders. Working with veterinarians and saddle experts in the US, Canada and England, Weininger and her team have gathered information on fit that is crucial to horse and rider comfort.

“This information is critical if you care about the comfort of your horse. Every time one rider learns about saddle fit, one more horse has the chance for a pain-free ride,” explained Weininger.

Combining a classroom lecture with hands-on learning, Weininger and her staff invite attendees to learn about the elements of good saddle fit.
Learn to develop an eye for conformation issues that create saddle-fitting challenges.
Discover how correctly matching tree shape to the horse’s back is critical to their comfort.
Uncover existing pain by learning how to palpate a horse’s back.
This course provides and introduction to some of the newest tools for achieving great fit and comfort for both horse and rider. The pressure testing pads demonstrated in the workshop measure what happens under the saddle, showing weight distribution and revealing pressure points. By using modern measuring tools, anyone can determine if the horse is likely to be comfortable in a specific saddle. Weininger will demonstrate proper fit of English saddles using concepts that apply equally to western saddles.

Here’s what past attendees had to say:
“This information was so thorough, I could have listened for hours.”
“This seminar clearly gave me insight as to the improvements that can be made to saddle fit.
“I didn’t realize saddle fit includes more to look for than white hair and sweat.”
“This seminar should have been mandatory for everyone in the barn.”
