Qualifying Points for the 2006 AQHA Bayer Select World Championship Show

Amarillo, Texas, August 26, 2005 – The qualifying season for the 2006 American Quarter Horse Association Bayer Select World Championship Show got underway June 30, and the recommendations for changes in required points have been approved.

AQHA’s in-house World Show Committee uses a formula to determine the qualifying points. The committee then presents the recommendations to AQHA’s Executive Committee for approval. This year’s Bayer Select World Show will kick off August 30 at the Amarillo National Center in Amarillo, Texas. It is projected to have an economic impact of more than $2 million to the Amarillo economy and feature approximately 580 American Quarter Horses. Entries exceed 750 in amateur select competition, and this year’s total purse is $158,600.
