Sacramento, CA – April 25, 2012 – The Western States Horse Expo is pleased to announce that sponsorship opportunities for the Magnificent Seven All Around Stock Horse Championship are now available. Each year, more than a dozen of the nation’s top riders convene from all across America for an intense one-day riding competition, where one horse and one rider demonstrate their skill and versatility in four events: herd work, rein work, steer stopping and fence work. Scheduled for June 8-10, 2012 the Western States Horse Expo at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA, draws equestrians of all ages and disciplines to see the world-class clinicians and presentations available each year.
This exciting event is sanctioned by the National Reined Cow Horse Association and will feature top judges Benny Guitron and Bob Avila, as well as spectacular crowd of over 5,000 spectators. This open competition is based on an event called the World’s Championship All-Around Stock Horse Contest originally initiated by Bobby Ingersoll in the 1970s and supported by the Pro Rodeo Hall of Famers Cotton Rosser and Walt Rodman. The contest was held periodically over the years until WSHE CEO and founder Miki Nelsen and others resurrected the event after nearly 20 years, and gave the event a permanent home in search of the All-Around Stock Horse Champion.
“It is the three day eventing in the working horse world because it features so many challenges,” explained Nelson. “It has the best riders in the world showing off a very impressive skill set. It’s a real crowd pleaser and brings out over 5,000 spectators. The competitors tell us they never compete in front of the crowds we bring!”
The Magnificent Seven All Around Stock Horse Championship will have equestrian spectators of all ages glued to their seat as they wait to see who will be crowned the 2012 winner. The title sponsorship of this prestigious competition is available, and because of the late date, there are reasonable opportunities to get involved with this event. For more information about sponsoring the championship and to receive a sponsorship packet please contact Traci Nelson by calling (800) 352-2411.
Entries are now open for riders interested in joining the event and showcasing their skills to the crowd. The action peaks on Friday Night when seven finalists are just four events away from a $25,000 purse, and the best horseman will receive the title of Magnificent 7 All-Around Stock Horse Champion. To download an entry form, please visit www.horsexpo.com. The deadline for entries is May 15, 2012, so be sure to send your information as soon as possible!
