Statement from Author/Artist, Ron Hevener – “Fate of the Stallion” – “The Blue Ribbon” – “High Stakes” – and the monthly column for animal lovers “On With The Show.” Mr. Hevener owns one of the oldest kennels of show dogs in the United States (www.ronHevener.com) and he is national spokesman for the Greyhound Racing Association of America (www.gra-america.org).

“Love and respect for life are taught and awakened in us by having pets. For many of us, nurturing pets and providing for them is what keeps our highest emotions alive. It is our reason for living. When government authorities invade private homes brutally seizing the pets of their citizens, even in front of children as if it is a crime to love something alive, it is clear that they do not want their people to think, create, feel or dream. What good is such a government? Who is it serving? What principles or morals is it teaching? With all of its legal force and intimidation, can such a government make up for the spiritual gifts that even one small puppy can give to the people who love it?”
