In May, TheHorse.com originally presented the Webinar, the industry’s first Web-based live seminar, which features two practitioners and researchers who have spent their lives trying to solve the mystery of laminitis and help horses and their owners. Rustin Moore, DVM, MS, PhD, Dipl. ACVS, and Jim Belknap, DVM, MS, PhD, Dipl. ACVS, of The Ohio State University (OSU), hosted the live Webinar at the OSU veterinary school. The Webinar was sponsored by VetTech, AirShod, Equi Life, and Delta Hoof Care.
In addition, a four-minute vignette of the informative and topical Webinar is also available free of charge on the popular YouTube.Com Web site by visiting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Y1lG-Rg1I. Founded in February 2005, YouTube is the leader in online video, and the premier destination to watch and share original videos worldwide through a Web experience. Extensive information on topics of concern are supplemented by timely features on horse health and news from researchers, veterinarians in the field and other equine professionals.
Kimberly Brown, editor of The Horse, commented, “I am confident that once viewers have seen the video, they will feel compelled to delve even deeper into this and other important horse health care topics and thus take advantage of the over 10,000 archived articles currently available on TheHorse.com. And YouTube is an ideal place for horse people to engage in new ways with video by sharing, commenting on, and viewing other equine-related videos. There is widespread concern in the industry about Laminitis and YouTube is a terrific vehicle to help us educate equine enthusiasts around the world.”
