Vets split over raw-food diets in pets

The notion of feeding pets with raw-food diets has stirred mixed reactions from veterinarians. Vets who oppose the idea contend that raw foods could pose risks to pets and people, including poisoning from E. coli, salmonella and other bacteria. Meanwhile, supporters say that cats and dogs have become immune to bacteria-laden diets, an argument that has been “demonstrated to be false,” according to an animal nutrition expert.
