Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center Completes Successful Summer Session

Loxahatchee, FL- July 23, 2010 – Recently, Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center (VTRC) successfully completed four weeks of summer camp sessions in conjunction with seven weeks of riding lesson at their beautiful Palm Beach County facility. The camp sessions started on June 7, 2010 and ran through July 2, 2010, while the regular summer session lessons included 35 riders per week.
Many riders were able to achieve different milestones during the summer sessions, helping VTRC achieve its goal to turn disability into ability. With the help of instructor Brenda Wells and horse Belle, one rider was able to learn to hold her head up without letting it drop to her chest. The student’s parents are so pleased with her progress that they will be bringing her three times a week for lessons in the fall.
This rider has severe physical impairments and must receive many different types of therapies. “Her parents tell us she is always excited to come to Vinceremos to ride and she sure shows that excitement with a huge smile on her face throughout the whole lesson,” said Ruth Menor, Executive Director of VTRC.
Instructor Maurette Hanson and horse Tommy have helped a rider reach his summer session goal of being able to transition into a canter successfully. He was able to achieve this goal during his last lesson of the summer session. The volunteers and staff at VTRC are excited to continue to watch his progress.

The volunteers and staff have worked diligently through the heat of the summer to keep the barn running smoothly and have a successful summer session. VTRC salutes its students, volunteers, staff, and especially the horses for all their hard work this summer! The special work of VTRC would not be possible without their hard work and dedication of so many.
