American Quarter Horses, trainers, owners and exhibitors head to Oklahoma City for the “Super Bowl†of the American Quarter Horse industry
Amarillo, Texas, October 11, 2005 — The world’s most talented American Quarter Horses, their trainers and owners will converge in Oklahoma City for the 32nd American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show. MBNA America® Amateur week begins November 5, followed by the FedEx Open, which runs through November 19.
This year’s show, which marks the 30th anniversary of the show being held in Oklahoma City, has a total of 2,989 entries and 1,991 competing American Quarter Horses. The World Show welcomes exhibitors from 49 states, seven Canadian provinces, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Italy and United Kingdom.
In addition, there will be 39 All-Around Amateur contenders and 30 Superhorse contenders. Total estimated purse and awards for the 2005 World Show is $2,292,286.

In addition, American Quarter Horses take center stage on Sunday, January 8, 2006, at 4 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Pacific on NBC Television. The one-hour special, which showcases the American Quarter Horse lifestyle, is based at the World Show and highlights the reining and cutting competition along with other events.
