America’s Horse, February 17, 2009 – American Quarter Horse Association members can enter to win a trip to a celebration of our horse – your horse – the American Quarter Horse. Visit americashorsedaily.com for details.
Last year, AQHA went live with http://americashorsedaily.com, a Web site designed to provide horse enthusiasts with horse care, showing, riding and training tips. That’s also the site allowing AQHA members to win a trip to QuarterFest: A Celebration of the American Quarter Horse. This one-of-a-kind event, May 1-3 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, will be a chance to ride, touch, observe and learn how to care for your American Quarter Horse.
QuarterFest is going to be at the Tennessee Miller Equestrian Center at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee (see the facility at www.aqha.com/quarterfest).
“We see this as a great way to kick off the summer riding season,” said Tom Persechino, AQHA executive director of marketing and communications. “We’re looking at offering trail trial competitions and American Quarter Horse test rides.”
There will be clinics all weekend long with four of AQHA’s Professional Horsemen: Curt Pate, and his wife Tammy of Newell, South Dakota; Jeff Griffith ofGallatin Gateway, Montana; and Julie Goodnight of Salida, Colorado. You can bring your horse and participate.
An exciting performance will take place each afternoon, and an all-star American Quarter Horse Extravaganza will take place Friday and Saturday nights.
Seminars, demonstrations, contests and a dedicated youth area will provide fun and education for horse people of all ages. Some of the greatest American Quarter Horses and world champion horsemen and women will be there to greet everyone.
And perhaps most importantly, AQHA will be kicking off its new conservation division. Taking an active role in preserving access to places to ride, upholding the traditions of horse ownership and enjoyment in America, and educating horsemen on building, preserving and behaving properly on trails is critical to our breed and members. The conservation section will give our members the industry leadership expected from AQHA in this crucial area.
Come to learn. Come to make friends. Come for the entertainment. But most of all, come to honor your horse. Details and reserve tickets are available online at www.aqha.com/quarterfest. If you’re an AQHA member, you’re eligible for reduced ticket and event prices at QuarterFest. So make plans now. We’ll see you there!
