I HAVE A SEVEN YEAR OLD GELDING, HE IS NOT QUITE A FINISHED BARREL HORSE, I JUST FOUND OUT HE IS BLIND IN HIS LEFT EYE. EVERY BODY SAY’S THAT I CAN STILL MAKE A FINISHED BARREL HORSE OUT OF HIM. I’M LOOKING FOR SOME SUGGESTIONS TO HELP ME BUILD HIS AND MY CONFIDENCE BACK UP
I have seen a couple of very good barrel horses that were blind in one eye. I would imagine the secret to getting along well with a one-eyed horse would have a lot to do with how much confidence the horse has in you and how broke or educated the horse is. Good luck.
