Lexington, KY— Blood-Horse Publications announces that Ralph H. Weickel has joined the company as director of advertising effective immediately. Weickel was formerly the principal/owner of Performance Management, LLC, of Lexington, a consulting and training company Weickel founded in 1998. He brings more than twenty years of business experience in the areas of organizational performance improvement, sales/sales management, and financial management. Prior to founding Performance Management, Weickel was executive vice president of sales, marketing, and employee development for Community Trust Bank from 1993-1998, and chief investment officer with Boatmen’s Bank Iowa from 1988-1993. Weickel received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis.

Bearse, president and CEO. “For the past year, he has worked closely with our management team consulting on project management, strategic planning, and professional development. In addition, Jim Cox has accepted the position of senior account executive which includes responsibility for the company’s west coast sales territory. Cox originally joined the company as research director in 1998. Prior to joining Blood-Horse Publications, Cox worked for Fasig-Tipton Sales Company, Thoroughbred of California magazine, Pope Advertising Agency, Saybrook Advertising Agency, Thoroughbred Times, The Cornett Group Advertising Agency, and Thorough-Graphic Sign Company.
