Ill. lawmaker urges review of ban on commercial horse slaughter

Illinois state Rep. Jim Sacia, R-Pecatonica, is pushing for the repeal of a statewide ban on the commercial slaughter of horses for human consumption. Sacia, who has attempted to get the ban repealed in the past, said he understands that horse slaughter is an emotional issue but wants people to “accept the fact that what I am trying to do is to give horses a humane end of life.” FoxNews.com
